Warner Bros. Studios laid off about 50 Burbank employees last week. Warner Bros. declined to comment, but studio said it would be “undertaking limited staff reductions in ".. "our home entertainment and consumer products divisions.” Entertainment giant the Walt Disney Co. recently shed roughly 200 jobs in home entertainment and distribution also in Burbank.

I liked seeing the article in the Tolucan or Burbank Free Press or whichever of several excellent print publications featured the Chili John's restaurant back story recently. Maybe it was the Leader, always a center for hard hitting news. I wish Chili John's would ave a food truck at the Buena Vista Library. Umm Marge chili fries.....I couldn't find the Chili John's website but here is a Youtube of people going there. Here is the Burbank Leader story.

The controversy around the proposed Bob Hope new transit corridor is brewing up. Supposedly the proposals exceeded the budgetary constraints. The thing is why do we need another transit project. What is the crisis with the state of Burbank's airport terminal now? Burbank has better things to spend its money on, most assuredly.

That big building that took over the corner between Johnny Carson park and Providence St. Joseph's Hospital has been...empty for a while. The one with the fancy misting sprinklers and the exterior parking elevators...may finally be getting some tenants. Alameda's newest business building will be welcoming DC Entertainment and KCET staff offices in the near future.
